Azure

Cotswolds
A rich, dark, moody palette inspired by old country style, with materials including dark timbers, opulent patterned and buttoned upholstery, velvets, wools and leathers.

Living with a
light touch

At Cotswolds Waters, each buyer has input into each stage of the development of their home enabling them to make informed decisions on the sustainable efficacy of their property.
We encourage each home to be built with locally sourced stone, responsibly sourced timber from forests which are continuously replenished, and from where surrounding flora and fauna will not be damaged. We have a range of renewable energy options such as Air Source heat pumps and we have developed building designs which understand Summer and Winter Sun paths in order to optimise passive solar gains.
Solar Orientation
The basic principles of Passive Solar Design rely on the understanding of the changing path of the sun throughout the year. The path of the sun not only changes across the seasons but is also specific to the site’s latitude. Below are the Sun paths for Fairford @ 52ON on the longest day (June 21st) and shortest day (December 21st) in a year.

We have designated house types orientation to better design the properties to respond to their specific parameters.
Always looking out on a sunny view. Staircase used as a passive solar heat gain feature.
Afternoon/evening Sun on terrace – good for outdoor dinning. Staircase used as a passive solar heat gain in the morning.
Morning Sun on glazing – good for outdoor breakfast. Staircase used as a passive solar heat gain in the evening.
- Positioning of glazing to maximise solar gain by concentrating areas of glass to the South, whilst taking into account the principle views.
- Minimise North facing openings wherever possible to reduce heat loss.
- Utilise Glazed certified windows and doors with high insulation values, soundproofing and airtightness.
- Thermal insulation to reduce heat loss from the building.
- Evening sun on stairwell glazing, maximise passive solar heat gain.
- Afternoon and evening sun on the terrace good for outdoor dining.
